The OMS Freedom Park run benefits the impactful efforts of One Mission Society in giving people all around the world the Freedom to Read. Here are some of the programs supported by One Mission Society that offers people the life changing opportunity to learn how to read:

Bridge to Reading

Bridge to Reading Literacy teaches adults to read the language they speak, in areas where OMS-related partners are planting churches. The volunteer tutors are trained to teach reading, writing, and basic math in their local churches in the Central African Republic, Burundi, Democratic Republic of the Congo (Africa), and in Colombia (South America) . This ministry is a powerful evangelism tool that is helping believers learn to read the Bible. Funding will assist OMS partner churches in need of chalkboards and simple school supplies.

English Camps in Europe

For many European university students, their only experience with Christianity has been an Easter visit to an Orthodox cathedral. English camps give them an opportunity to meet Christians with a vibrant relationship with Jesus. During the camp, many begin to see that God is relevant and can make a difference in their lives. English camps have proven to be fruitful for evangelistic ministry. In fact, 30% of those who attend a camp accept Christ.

USA Diaspora Ministry

OMS Diaspora Ministry exists to assist and encourage immigrants and refugees (diaspora) settling in a nation outside their passport country. Many of the people coming to the U.S., for example, struggle with English, misunderstand the culture, and don’t know Jesus. That’s why we have many volunteers teaching English, sharing the Good News, mentoring, praying, and engaging in conversation with diaspora people.
Some of these people are considered “unreached” back in their homeland, and they number in the tens of thousands within just miles of the OMS World Headquarters in  Greenwood, IN.
